چکیده

study investigated the phenomenon of kinematic asymmetry of the lower limbs in distance runners. The subjects, 29 male distance runners, were recorded by high-speed filming while running on a motor 'driven treadmill under two experimental conditions (with running shoes and barefoot). Twelve selected kinematic variables were subjected to multivariate statistical andysis. It was demonstrated that the lower limbs of distance runners possess a ultifaceted kinematic asymmetry for touchdown and foot contact as well for the entire phase of foot support of the running stride. Significant nematic asymmehies were found in the lower leg angle, rearfoot angle, ediolateral velocity of the foot, and in some temporal variables. Contempory running shoes seem to significantly change the degree of rearfoot contro asymmetry observed in normal barefoot running.-The findings of the present study confirm previous data suggesting that the phenomenon of kinematic asymmetry in runners is warranted.

The effect of shoe insole stiffness on electromyography activity pattern of selected lower extremity muscles during running on treadmill

The purpose of this study was to determine the immediate effect of three types of shoe insoles, on electromyography activity of selected lower extremity muscles during running on treadmill. The electromyography activity of the rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, biceps femoris, tibialis anterior and gastrocnemius lateralis muscles of 14 male athletes were recorded in non-insole,...

تأثیر خستگی بر الگوی فعالیت الکترومایوگرافی و هم انقباضی عضلات اندام تحتانی طی دویدن

Background: Muscle fatigue can change the muscle activation pattern during running and causes some disorders in running biomechanics. The aim of present study was to determine the effect of muscle fatigue on electromyographic activation pattern and co-contractions of lower extremity muscles during running. Methods: Fourteen males (age: 23.76±2.14 years, weight: 78.45±2.54 kg, hei...

Gait asymmetry: composite scores for mechanical analyses of sprint running.

Gait asymmetry analyses are beneficial from clinical, coaching and technology perspectives. Quantifying overall athlete asymmetry would be useful in allowing comparisons between participants, or between asymmetry and other factors, such as sprint running performance. The aim of this study was to develop composite kinematic and kinetic asymmetry scores to quantify athlete asymmetry during maxima...

The effect of increasing running speed on three-dimensional changes of lower limb joint angles in open motor chain and swing phase

Objective Running is known as one of the most popular sports for which there is no time and space limit. Recently, due to lifestyle changes, the use of treadmills for walking and running has increased. However, the biomechanical differences in coordination between running on a treadmill at different speeds have not been sufficiently addressed. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect...

تقارن محلی و عمومی حین دویدن آهسته در مردان جوان ورزشکار

Purpose: Evaluation of joints behavioral symmetry of the lower limbs to produce a smooth, rhythmic movement is one of the topics in the field of biomechanics of running. This study investigated joints local and global symmetry while jogging in young male athletes.  Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study. Random sampling method was used and the participants of the study included 15 health...
